Blossoms in Bloom

Sudo's favorite spring activity is taking a stroll around the Jefferson Memorial and viewing the cherry blossoms. She especially likes all the attention she gets during the cherry blossom festival.  While the festival was canceled in 2020, Sudo still felt the need to create something to cherish those memories forever.

There is beauty in the minimalism of this color palette. The pale pink is warm and peaceful, combining well with the green — the color of harmony, balance and security.  This sprinkled with bursts of magenta show a zest for life and create a wonderful soiree on the canvas.

Upon viewing this piece one can see the development of Sudo's style and her foray into rudimentary pointillism. This abstract depiction of the delicate cherry blossom, which seem to float across the canvas, is a depiction of both Sudo's longing for past seasons and hopefulness of ones to come.
